This is such a great summer read; I’m surprised it hasn’t gotten that much attention.
This story is about a family that goes on a vacation to Spain together and not all of them are too happy to be there. The narrator is constant but examines each character throughout the novel. All of the characters are distinctly unique; there are different dynamics at play. Even though the story isn’t constantly in one character’s POV, it’s easy to keep up with. The character development, the drama, the insight into each character is so entertaining!
The novel deals with so many different aspects of life, from coming of age, new beginnings, the trials of marriage and everything in between. I honestly think anyone could relate to this book because of the array of different personalities and ages, and the fact that everyone’s family is a little bit crazy and have problems of their own.
It was laugh out loud funny, honest, and truly relatable on so many levels.
Rating: 5/5
